How do I replace the LCD screen assembly on my HTC one X Phone?

To replace the damaged LCD on your HTC phone, you will need a screwdriver and the screen assembly for replacement. The procedure is a simple one but will also require precaution lest you damage everything else inside. You can follow the steps below:

  • Begin by switching off the phone and removing the tray that holds the SIM
  • Remove the back cover of the phone. It is attached with adhesive tape and so you may need to use hot air for easy removal. Once opened, you will see the motherboard, which is held to the phone by 6x Philips screws
  • Disconnect the volume buttons and the touch screen flex cable, dock connector flex cable, and Mic flex cable one by one.
  • Lift the motherboard and disconnect the LCD display flex cable, the navigation buttons flex cable, and the power on button flex cable. From there, you can disconnect the battery.
  • Separate the LCD and touchscreen from the frame using hot air again to make it simpler.
  • Put adhesive tape on the frame(you can also utilize the one left on frame) and install the new LCD. Assemble all other parts one by one in a gentle manner.
