DJI Camera Drones

Drones for personal use are becoming more common. They can be used for taking pictures and videos at different angles, and they let you experience the thrill of piloting an aircraft from the safety of the ground. DJI makes a variety of drones for personal home use.

What are the differences between the Phantom 3 versions?

The main differences between the pro and advanced models are in their battery sizes and camera modules. Both versions have 12-megapixel cameras, and while the advanced version is capable of video recording at 1080p, the professional model is capable of shooting in 4K. The charger on the professional model is 100 watts, while the advanced model has a 57-watt charger. The standard 3 version still retains the Phantom 2 controller but with a 12-megapixel onboard lens that can record in 1080p.

How high and far can the DJI camera drone fly?

The height and distance of the DJI drone’s flight depend on the radio's range and which battery has been installed. Depending on the DJI camera drone you are controlling, the receiver will record a high of up to 1 mile in ideal weather conditions. It is important to note that unmanned aerial vehicles with inbuilt control systems are not limited by radio range and can go further. For instance, the Phantom 4 series can reach a flying distance of 3 miles when there's no obstruction or electronic interference.

What is the flight time of DJI camera drones?

The duration of flight for a DJI drone is dictated by its battery life, and the battery life of the UAV depends on the battery-usage requirements of the equipment, such as the camera and rotors fitted onto it. Traveling at maximum speed will increase energy consumption while reducing the time spent in the air. The speed at which you fly your drone affects the time of the flight but does not impact the distance you can go before the battery dies. DJI also records the flight time for the Phantom 3 Advanced at 23 minutes max, while the Phantom 3 Professional and the Phantom 4 fly for 23 and 28 minutes, respectively.
